Hello aw, howp ye hae been makkin the maist o wit braw simmer...or the twa-thrie braw hours we hae been gettin. Michael wis sayin this wad be the year fer a bonnie simmer - but sae faur it's ainlie been sunny whan I'm warkin inbye, an whan I'm daein pentin outside it buckets doun!

It wis ma 19t birthday yesterday (I feel auld...) an I gaed out wi a frein o mine tae see "The Lost Makar - A Medieval Tapestry" at the Netherbow in Edinburgh. It wis braw, it ralley wis. Umwhile Edinburgh makar Stewart Conn read frae a series o poems he wrate anent Roull o Corstorphine, a 15t century makar wha's warks is aw tint, but wha Dunbar murned is his ''Lament for the Makaris", alang wi a tait auld musardrie frae the samen period while John Sampson gied muisical interludes on a hail range o recorders, pipes an ithir blawy-hingmies I'd ne'er heird o afore. It wis a braw e'enin that gied a rale feel o whit it maun hae been like tae be pairt o the court life in the time o James IV - a muckle, magic, maisterly mixtur-maxtur o muisic an musradrie! Sae muckle thanks tae the SLC fer giein wittins o it in their email. Gin hauf the shaws an events we'r aw telt about throu the mailin list is hauf as guid as last nicht than the SLC's daein a rale service drawin attention tae thaim.

Sang o the week: Hallowed be thy Name - Iron Maiden

God Bless,
